The Corporation of Lower Saint Lawrence Poilots comprises pilots from the section of the Saint Lawrence that extends from the western tip of the Port of Québec to an imaginary line extending between l'Anse-aux-Basques (Les Escoumins) on the North Shore of the river and the church in the village of Saint-Simon on the South Shore. The pilots who are members of the Corporation ensure the safe passage of ships along the Saint Lawrence.
