Québec is brimming with an impressive array of quality local produce. Depending on the region, visitors will find cheese, wine, cider, beer, meat and seafood. Those with a penchant for lobster, crab and shellfish will find the freshest of catches in several prized regions of the province. 

The Magdalen Islands are especially well known for lobster fishing. Beginning in May, choice island lobster prepared in a number of different ways appears on local menus. Grilled or steamed, served in a sandwich roll or featured in a hearty chowder, lobster lovers one and will delight. Fishermen in the region also catch an extensive variety of fresh fish and shellfish, including mussels and scallops  for the most discriminating of palates!

Québec's North Shore ports of call at Sept-Îles, Baie-Comeau and Havre Saint-Pierre each features fish and seafood on local menus. Visitors to these ports will delight in the savoury shrimp and delectable shellfish.

Aficionados of snow crab, also known as king crab, will find this prized delicacy on menus in the Gaspé region from April through to early summer.
