Board continuity at Cruise the Saint Lawrence

Rimouski, July 9th 2020 – Cruise the Saint Lawrence proudly announces the composition of the organization’s board of directors. At the Annual General Meeting of July 9th, three individuals were appointed to serve in the capacity of officers of the association. They include Tony Boemi of Port of Montréal who was reelected for a two-year term as President, Nancy Houley of Port of Québec who will continue to serve as Vice President, and Priscilla Nemey of Promotion Saguenay who was reelected to the post of Secretary-Treasurer.

The eight other directors elected to round out the board of directors are as follows:

-        Yolaine Masse, Tourism Montréal
-        Daniel Rioux, Innovation Economic Development Trois-Rivières
-        Éric Bilodeau, Québec Tourism Bureau
-        Reina Savoie-Jourdain, Baie-Comeau Cruises
-        Mirka Boudreau, Destination Sept-Îles Nakauinanu
-        Odessa Thériault, Port of Havre-Saint-Pierre
-        Stéphane Sainte-Croix, Escale Gaspésie
-        Denis Bourque, Escale Îles de la Madeleine

In the current context of COVID-19, the board of directors has chosen to renew the terms of each of the officers, the object being to provide continuity as Cruise the Saint Lawrence endeavours to chart a clear course ahead. The cruise industry, which until only recently continued to ride high with the wind in its sails, currently faces the most daunting challenge ever to beset it. The board of directors has joined forces with members from Montréal to the Îles de la Madeleine to plan and coordinate the relaunch[H1]  of operations in 2021. Destination priorities include sustainable development and the safety and security of locals and visitors alike. The entire association team will be poised and ready to welcome cruise ships into port when government authorities announce the resumption of cruise operations.

Cruise the Saint Lawrence is an organization which groups together the nine ports of call located along the shores of the Saint Lawrence River. The mission of the organization is to grow cruise market activities in Québec and across Destination Canada New England through the provision of marketing and development services to members.  Cruise the Saint Lawrence enjoys the support of partners Tourism Québec, Québec Tourism Industry Alliance and Industry, Science and Economic Development Canada.
