  • La Grave historical site
    Directions from the port
    La Grave historical site La Grave is a site that is filled with history. Meet the artists and craftspeople, visit a salt works, experience our history at the Musée de la Mer, discover our marine species at the Aquarium, take a stroll down the pedestrian footpath or savour the tasty fare the many restaurants have to offer:

  • Le site d'autrefois 
    Directions from the port
    Le site d'autrefois

    Life size or miniature, the Site d'Autrefois depicts the Islands of yesteryear. Visit the interior of a traditional house and a farmhouse with live animals. A Madelinot fisherman vividly interprets the evolution of the fisherman's life. Splendid landscapes from the observatory.

  • Le site de la côte

    Le site de la côte

    The site de la côte offers boutiques, an interpretation centre, theatre venues, a restaurant with terrace, and animation site close to the Port of l'Étang-du-Nord. We also invite you to get some fresh air on our walking and cycling trails with departure points at La Côte.

    • Individual visitors: unlimited
    • Interpretation centre : 35 to 40 visitors.
  • Le Fumoir d'Antan - Smoked Herring economuseum

    At the Fumoir d'Antan you will discover traditional smoke houses. For over three generations, the Arseneau family has smoked herring. Come and taste our latest products, whether smoked naturally or with aromatic oils.

  • La Méduse Glassworks

    La Méduse Glassworks

    An artistic glassworks located in a historical building called "La grande école". Blown and moulded glass. Open stock and sets, featuring utility and decorative pieces. Boutique and workshop open year-round, offering free observation of craftspeople at work.

  • C.A.M.I. Historical and Heritage complex 
    Directions from the port
    C.A.M.I. Historical and Heritage complex A historical and heritage complex located in a former little red schoolhouse built in 1921. Exhibition on the Anglophone heritage and culture of the islands. Artefacts and photos from the era. Also visit the commemorative park erected in memory of veterans and the Musée des Vétérans.

  • Seal Interpretive Centre

    Seal Interpretive Centre

    Discover the four species of seals that frequent the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and their ties to the people of the Magdalen Islands. Don't miss the multi-image "Histoires de glaces/A history of ice" presentation. Enjoy a tour with a guide-interpreter.

  • La Salicorne, Auberge et Escapade

    La Salicorne, Auberge et Escapade

    L'Auberge la Salicorne (formerly knows as Le Club Vacances Les Îles) offers different aquatic activities including windsurfing, ocean kayaking, and tour of isothermal caves and habitats. Take a guided hike and discover the Pointe de l'Est National Wildlife Reserve.

    Restaurants on the Îles de la Madeleine distinguish themselves with a vast choice of gastronomic fare. The Islands' regional cuisine has earned its acclaim, thanks to its quality, originality and taste.

    Several boutiques offer an array of objects created by local artists. Visit the artisans in their workshops, discover their trade, watch them mould clay or sand, blow glass or polish stone, and discover the originality of Madelinot culture.
