  • Musée de la civilisation

    Musée de la civilisation

    In the Old Port, near the historic site of Place-Royale, this internationally renowned museum, presenting more than ten thematic exhibitions at a time, is unlike any other. A popular museum, emphasizing participation and interaction, truly a place of wonder and reflection!

  • Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec

    Located in the heart of the Plains of Abraham (which is celebrating its Centennial this year) with its exceptional architecture and environment, the museum presents extensive international art events including the exhibition entitled "Le Louvre à Québec - Les arts et la vie - The Louvre in Quebec - Art and Life" being presented as an international exclusive from June 5 to October 26, 2008, and exhibits featuring Québec artists, past and present. In addition, its restaurant boasts an excellent reputation!

  • Centre d'interprétation de Place-Royale

    This new interpretation centre tells the history of the site considered the birthplace of French civilization in America. A multimedia show, exhibits, discovery area, guided tours, cultural and educational activities invite you to relive the region's 400-year history.

  • The Chevalier House

    The Chevalier House

    Of French classical inspiration, this building from the second half of the 18th century is a testimony to the urban architecture of New France. In addition to recalling the history of the building, the A Sense of the Past exhibit presents reconstituted interiors from the 18th and 19th centuries, created using pieces from the Musée de la civilisation's collection.

  • Musée de l'Amérique française

    The Musée is the oldest museum in Canada and has its roots in European religious and educational traditions. Located in a building that is part of the Séminaire de Québec, founded by Monseigneur de Laval in 1663, it is a witness and herald of a colourful past, worthy of the world's greatest epics.

  • National Battlefields Commission (Plains of Abraham)

    The Discovery Pavilion of the Plains of Abraham presents Odyssey: A Journey through History on the Plains of Abraham. In the park itself: Louis S.-St. Laurent Heritage house, monuments, Martello towers, artillery, interpretation panels and commemorative plaques spread over 270 acres of woods and gardens.

  • Observatoire de la Capitale

    Your first stop in Québec! Discovering the city from 221 metres up is what the Observatoire de la Capitale proposes. This observation tower offers stunning views of Québec and the surrounding area, including the mighty Saint Lawrence River and historic Old Québec. Don't miss it!

  • Aquarium du Québec

    In 2009, the Aquarium is celebrating its 50th anniversary and offers theme activities for the family all year long.  You can always visit the exhibit about the Aquarium's 50 years of history. Visit the ecosystems of the different marine environments and discover their plant and animal life. Close to 10,000 specimens of fresh water and salt water fish, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates and marine mammals animate the Aquarium's basins. Come and applaud the polar bears, the enormous Pacific and Atlantic walrus and the very sociable seals!

  • Laurier Québec

    Laurier Québec, home to 350 stores, is not only the largest shopping centre in Eastern Canada, but also the leading tourist destination after Vieux-Québec. Each year, Place Laurier frequented by more than 12.5 million visitors. Many services are available for visitors including shopping bags, discount coupons, and much more.

    Don't miss one of Canada's most important archeological sites this summer in Québec city. Come visit the remains of the Saint-Louis forts and châteaux. The visit takes you under Dufferin Terrace, where an indepth interpretation program presents the story of the city's governors and its defence system. The site will be accessible this summer only, making this an exceptional opportunity. You can also enjoy an interactive exhibition featuring artifacts discovered in  archaeological excavations. Open Daily, May 9 to October 12.  Free Entrance.

  • La Citadelle of Québec/ Royal 22e Regiment museum

    The Citadelle, also called the Gibraltar of America, is a national monument located on Cap Diamant. Built from 1820 to 1850, its star-shaped layout is characteristic of Vauban fortifications. The site is open to visitors during guided tours of the Musée Royal 22e Régiment.

  • Fortifications of Québec National Historic Site of Canada

    In the company of an interpreter-guide, take a stroll over, under and inside the walls to discover three centuries of Québec history while exploring the ingenuity of the city's defence system. Take advantage of untold views of the city and its surroundings. Follow-up with a visit to the Esplanade Powder Magazine and the Artillery Park. As part of the Dufferin Terrace's 130th anniversary, visitors can explore the vestiges of the Saint-Louis châteaux and forts. Parks Canada guides are on hand with information about the history of this heritage site.

    Strolling through the streets of Old Québec, it is impossible to resist the desire to visit artisan kiosks, renowned designer boutiques, numerous art galleries and fine grocery stores. Close by, over 1000 boutiques and stores spread across five shopping centres are available for your pleasure and your needs.

  • Airport 
    Directions from the port

    The Jean-Lesage International Airport is located approximately 30 km from downtown. Ten or so carriers offer over 300 regular weekly flights to multiple international destinations.
