Our ports of call offer an assortment of activities to suit all tastes. We have selected a few that will definitely please you. To view the complete list of activities offered at each port of call, please consult the tourist information.

  • The Garden of the Glaciers  
    Directions from the port
    The Garden of the Glaciers The Garden of the Glaciers allows you to experience spectacular maritime landscapes formed by glaciers through multiple activities such as Tyrolean traverses, hiking, sea kayaking, and interpretive cruises. Opening of the Glacier Exploration Center in June 2009.

  • Domaine de l'ours noir
    Directions from the port
    Domaine de l'ours noir The Domaine invites you to observe the American black bear and its competitor the wolf in the freedom of nature. The rate of successful observations is 99.9%. In a sheltered building, glassed-in on three sides, you can admire animals only a few metres away. A terrific experience.

  • Manic-5, le barrage Daniel-Johnson

    Manic-5, le barrage Daniel-Johnson

    This most remarkable installation of the Manic-Outardes hydroelectric complex is located 214 km north of Baie-Comeau and it is the largest dam in the world with multiple arches and buttresses (height 214 m, length 1.3 km). The Daniel-Johnson dam holds the Manicouagan reservoir with a surface area of 2000 km2. Access is only possible by air.

  • Parc nature de Pointe-aux-Outardes
    Directions from the port
    Parc nature de Pointe-aux-Outardes Thirty minutes from Baie-Comeau with naturalists offering guided tours on cleared trails, you will discover exuberant wildlife and vegetation, including a salt-water march of 1210 acres, 250 species of birds, sand dunes, and unlimited beaches.

    • Individual visitors : 500 visitors.
  • Barrage hydroélectrique Manic-2 
    Directions from the port
    Barrage hydroélectrique Manic-2 Manic-2 is an important hollow-joint gravity dam and the first one to be put in service at the Manic-Outardes complex. It is here that in 1965 Hydro-Québec operated the first 735,000 V line in the world. Visitors will visit an enormous alternator and learn how electricity is produced.

  • Village forestier d'Antan of Franquelin
    Directions from the port
    Village forestier d'Antan of Franquelin Located 20 minutes from the Baie-Comeau port facilities, at this site you can enjoy a guided tour featuring the North Shore's forestry history including activities such as tree-cutting, hauling, log driving and life in the forest.  Typical buildings as well as items and photos from the era depict the living conditions and lifestyle of lumberjacks from yesteryear.

    Restaurants

    Baie-Comeau offers an array of restaurants for every taste, from gourmet meals to family favourites and local specialties. Let yourself be tempted by one of our local products including seafood, venison, fish, wildberries, etc.

  • Shopping
    In addition to three shopping centres, Baie-Comeau offers the possibility of shopping on the commercial arteries of the Plateau and Place La Salle, the latter of which shines under the theme of "Baie-Comeau, a Company Town".
  • Airport 
    Directions from the port
    The regional airport is located 30 km from port and offers direct flights to Québec and Montréal.
