An exceptional tourist destination : Here and Now!

When you arrive at the port you will catch a glimpse, from a cliff overhanging the Saint Lawrence River, the majestic Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, which is the most photographed hotel in the world.

Often referred to as the most romantic city in Canada, you are sure to fall under the spell of the European charm of Old Québec, the only fortified city in North America, declared an international heritage site by UNESCO. Its history is evoked by the old churches, stone houses, fortifications and canons that surround it to this day.

What a delight it is to walk along the Promenade des Gouverneurs, which runs along Cap Diamant, from the Fairmont Château Frontenac all the way to the Plains of Abraham, and to discover the star-shaped Citadelle. A horse-drawn carriage ride through its narrow, winding streets is the ideal way to fall under its charm. There are several must-see places to visit to go back in time to the origins of New France: the Place-Royale and Petit Champlain quarter where Samuel de Champlain built his first home in 1608, and the Old Port of Québec. Numerous festivals and events are held throughout the year. Don't miss the fabulous image mill spectacular night presentation!

Nature and culture close at hand!

Less than 30 minutes from downtown, you will appreciate the landscapes of the Île d'Orléans, the Côte-de-Beaupré and the magnificent Montmorency Falls, which are 30 metres higher than Niagara Falls. A trip to the Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, internationally renowned pilgrimage site, is also an absolute must.

The Jean-Lesage International Airport offers direct daily flights to and from Toronto, Newark, New York, Chicago and Detroit. Passengers boarding Amtrak Adirondack trains in New York transfer to Via Rail in Montréal to make the three-hour trip to Québec City.
