Ubiquitous nature and an imposing landscape.

The Baie-Comeau region boasts engineering masterpieces in the realm of hydroelectricity, including the dams at the Manic-Outardes hydroelectric complex. These gigantic works characterize Baie-Comeau as ‘a company town'.

The development of the Baie-Comeau region was bolstered by the industrialization of modern Québec by means of its natural resources. The presence of the Saint Lawrence River, forestry, the creation of saw and paper mills, and the emergence of a world class aluminum smelter all led to the expansion of the territory.

To discover, understand, and appreciate nature, Baie-Comeau and the surrounding region offer activities that are suited to everyone. You will discover exceptional geological phenomena, incredibly rich wildlife, and forest habitats. Enjoy the sights of the whale, seals, great herons, and ducks that grace our magnificent landscape.

Just a few minutes from the port, you will be warmly welcomed by the local population in a thriving and vast natural setting. Browse at the many boutiques where you will be sure to find the perfect souvenir, or dare to experiment with the many activities offered in Baie-Comeau. Be sure to not miss a thing!
