Presentation

North American enthusiasm and European charm, a dynamic cultural scene, diverse architecture where past and present come together, rich gastronomy, festival after festival, gathering places where creativity is expressed without limits... Montréal offers its visitors all of this and much more!

There is no better destination to start or end a cruise along the majestic Saint Lawrence River!

For a getaway or a meeting, Montréal is an undeniable destination. Night owl, festive, food connoisseur, erudite, open to the world - no matter what your expectations are, our warm and welcoming city is sure to seduce you. Montréal is truly welcoming and offers the ultimate in entertainment.

Brimming with culture, Montréal, which is cosmopolitan, epicurean and festive, boasts numerous architectural marvels and city parks. There is no better place to start or end a cruise along the majestic Saint Lawrence River. Every year, throughout the year, Montréal hosts over 40 festivals, ranging from traditional shows to more avant-garde spectacles. Jazz, humour, gastronomy and varied performances are all great reasons for Montrealers to take to the streets and frequent the many theatres, concert halls, and cabarets. It's a celebration each and every day!

A cosmopolitan city with European flair, Montréal is a vibrant metropolis with 3.4 million residents who make their home on this island in the middle of the Saint Lawrence River. French, English and several other languages are spoken here.

Every neighbourhood has its own unique charm:

  • Trendy Plateau Mont-Royal
  • Colourful Little Italy
  • Traditional Chinatown
  • Eclectic St-Laurent Boulevard
  • The ultimate French venue, St-Denis Street.

For a panoramic view of the city, climb to the top of Mount Royal. Mount Royal Park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, who also landscaped New York's Central Park. Discover the trail that leads up to the illuminated cross. This is the very spot where Jacques Cartier, discoverer of the Saint Lawrence River, planted a wooden cross in 1535.

When you reach the wharf you will find yourself in the heart of the Old Port and at the marine terminal, which is just 5 minutes from downtown.

Over 45 airlines serve Montréal-Trudeau Airport, which is located 20 minutes from downtown. To travel into the city, Montréal-Trudeau arriving passengers enjoy a choice of either an airport limousine taxi for $38 or airport shuttle for $14.

Montréal's Central Train Station is located in the heart of the city within easy walking distance of hotels and tourist attractions. VIA Rail operates frequent daily departures from Montréal to destinations across southern Québec, as well as in eastern and southern Ontario.

Come discover the Montréal experience: the old world charm and atmosphere in a decisively modern setting.
