Thanks to all who helped organize one of the best press trips I've ever taken. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Quebec and am writing to express my gratitude for the accommodations, transport, dinners, activities and everything that fell under the category of the phrase I learned and loved, "Et pourquoi pas?" All went off without a hitch and was very enjoyable.
My plan is to feature Quebec on the cover of our spring 2007 issue. We had considered the fall issue, but that issue mails in September, and by then, it's too late in the season for people to book their fall 2006 travel. The spring issue mails in late January, so it will be in the hands of consumers in time for them to plan for travel to Quebec during your 2007 spring and fall cruising seasons.
Our emphasis will be two-fold: first, we will promote Montreal, Quebec and Saguenay as pre/post-cruise destinations. We'll recommend that cruise passengers add at least a week to their cruises: three days in Montreal, three in Quebec City and two days in Saguenay. We'll follow the itinerary you outlined for us and point out that visiting Quebec is much like visiting Europe but without the jetlag or expense of traveling across the Atlantic (or the snobbery!). We'll also feature all three destinations as port calls, advising passengers what to do if they only have one day in port.
I enjoyed my trip so much that I would like to come to Quebec in the fall. Et pourquoi pas? I can work out accommodations and transport on my own, and I suspect I can get a good cover photo for the magazine.
Again, thank you for a memorable trip. I know that our readers will want to travel to Quebec once they read more about the destination. Please keep me posted on press materials, new developments, etc.
I hope to see all of you again. Until then . . . au revoir.
Best regards,
