Discovering the host city

This is Québec City!

Québec is a true gem from a tourism perspective but also one of North America's most beautiful port cities. Set against the stunning backdrop of Cap Diamant and the majestic Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, its port is the gateway to Old Québec's historic and cultural neighborhoods. Set foot ashore and walk into a world of museums, heritage homes, art galleries, craft boutiques, public markets, parks, murals, sidewalk cafés, restaurants, bistros, and more-all just a few steps or a buggy ride away! Extend your stay upon arrival or departure and enjoy a few extra days in one of the world's best destinations!

Over the years, Québec City and its surrounding area have collected numerous tourism accolades: 5th best city destination in North America and 10th in the world in 2010 according to Condé Nast Traveler. Best Canadian city for culture, 4th best Canadian destination, and 7th most romantic city in the world in 2010 according to TripAdvisor. Québec City is also famed for its hospitality. According to a Québec City Tourism survey, over 99% of visitors polled were satisfied or very satisfied with the welcome they received from residents.

It's no secret that Old Québec is one of the city's main attractions. The walled city has a uniquely European flavor, with its narrow, winding streets and extensive array of boutiques, museums, and attractions. Just minutes from town, a different world of wide-open spaces awaits visitors. Nearby parks and facilities offer numerous sports and outdoor activities, plus opportunities to meet local farmers and sample tasty local specialty products. With its excellent safety record and very low crime rate, Québec City provides a vacation environment you can truly appreciate, no matter what your activities and interests.

The Québec City area is home to world-class tourism infrastructures that provide a full range of amenities and comforts to visitors. The cradle of French civilization in North America and the only walled city North of Mexico, Québec City and its ramparts are home to a myriad of treasures that will delight history buffs.

Québec City Tourism brings together over 1,000 member businesses in the tourism sector and has been a department of the City of Québec since January 2002. As a regional tourism association, Québec City Tourism coordinates and represents the local tourism industry.

Its mission is to actively contribute to industry prosperity through integrated and coordinated marketing and development efforts (aimed at visitors as well as business clienteles and the media), reception services for tourists, and information to the industry. For all these reasons, Québec City is a premium destination that's sure to please all from land vacation to cruise lovers.

We, in Québec, and particularly in Québec City, look forward to hosting all delegates to Canada New England Cruise Symposium from June 12-14, 2012.
